Member's Mark™ Thai Jasmine Rice (50 lb.) is a restaurant-sized bag of high-quality jasmine rice. Thai Jasmine rice is one of the primary ingredients in a vast array of dishes. A constant of Thai food, the kitchen staple has worked its way into recipes from Japan, China, India, Korea and beyond. If you like the taste, it can also be substituted into other dishes for other types of rice. It’s named after the jasmine flower, which has a sweet floral scent.
Jasmine Rice is Good for You
From a health standpoint, there's a lot to love about jasmine rice. This naturally fragrant long grain rice is completely cholesterol-free. It's also a great choice for those with gluten sensitivity because it's gluten-free. And jasmine rice contains no trans fats.
Aromatic and Fragrant
Jasmine rice, unlike many other rices, has its own subtly sweet taste. While some rice is more of a blank canvas on which flavors can be layered, jasmine rice actually imparts flavor to the dishes it’s used in. This makes it an exceptionally popular choice for chefs and home cooks alike.
Cooking Jasmine Rice
When cooking jasmine rice, there are a variety of methods. The first is by using the stove top. Combine 1 cup of jasmine rice with 1.5 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Once you have a rolling boil simply reduce to a simmer and cook roughly 15 minutes. If the stovetop isn't an, you can always use the microwave. In this instance, combine 1 cup of jasmine rice with 1.75 cups of water and microwave on high for 15-20 minutes, depending on the strength of your microwave at home. You can also cook it in a rice cooker or an Instant Pot. You can enjoy it simply with garlic, ginger and cilantro or as a base for an Asian dish.
